Job Description
We are seeking an experienced assertive, dynamic, ambitious Commercial Roofing Estimator who can continue our long tradition of successful roofing solutions by providing quality workmanship. We have had many employees working for 20 years and longer both in the office and in the field for us.
As one of the state's top roofing contractors, we have a well-established, continuously growing full service commercial roofing company, including sheet metal. With a focus on quality, customer service, and safety. We have a strong client portfolio including many Fortune 500 companies.
Responsibilities:
Estimate, compile bids and generate proposals so that they are completed on time.
Perform take-offs from project drawings and building locations.
Work in tandem with sales staff to prepare proposals for completion before prospective customer due date.
Review/prepare proposed project bids in accordance with company bidding procedures, with essential overall cost accuracy.
Review contracts for accuracy in price and scope.
Prepare submittal packages.
Prepare notice of award for manufacturer guarantees.
Prepare change order estimates for approval.
Prepare purchase orders request.
Participate in pre-construction meetings.
Participate in pre-job meetings with hand-off from estimating to project management on assigned projects.
Coordinate project activities to attain successful goals on all projects by focusing attention to on time and in budget project completion.
Complete project closeout documents.
Participate in post-job review/analysis of actual costs to estimated costs through job cost system for use on future projects.
Requirements:
Knowledge of various roof systems, materials, construction process and design, code compliance and manufacturers requirements for warranty.
Firm understanding of all aspects of commercial roofing, including analyze blueprints, plans, proposals and specifications and other documentation.
Estimate Roofing Projects on Excel Spreadsheets (Edge Estimating Experience a plus).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs. (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point)
Outstanding communication and time management abilities.
Ability to give instructions and clearly explain problems or situation.
