Gansevoort Meatpacking is looking for 1-2 energetic, outgoing individuals to join our team as Gelato Cart Attendants for the season. This is a fun, fast-paced role serving gelato from our signature street cart in one of NYC’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

We will be starting service in mid-May. Shift will generally fall between 11am and 7pm Wednesday-Sunday. About the RoleAs a Gelato Cart Attendant, you will be the face of the brand on the street, delivering a warm, engaging, and efficient guest experience. From greeting customers and recommending flavors to scooping gelato and maintaining the cart, you will ensure every interaction reflects the quality and hospitality standards of Gansevoort.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service: greet guests, take orders, and process payments
Scoop and serve house-made gelato with consistency and presentation in mind
Maintain proper inventory levels of gelato, cones, toppings, and supplies
Follow all food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with NYC guidelines
Keep the gelato cart clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times
Operate POS system accurately
Conduct basic inventory counts (cones, cups, napkins, utensils, etc.)
Represent the Gansevoort brand with professionalism and positive energy
Prior experience in ice cream, gelato, or food cart service preferred
Comfortable handling cash and using POS systems
Strong communication skills and high-energy personality
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to work outdoors in warm weather conditions
Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Flexible availability
Food Handler’s Certificate is a plus
