Job Description

The Bentonville Bulletin is hiring a full-time reporter to help expand our local government, growth and business coverage. Few places are growing and transforming as quickly as Bentonville. Today, Bentonville has about 63,000 residents. City leaders estimate the population could reach nearly 200,000 by 2050. We’re looking for a curious, resourceful reporter to help locals understand what all of this growth means for them. While other news outlets are racing to rewrite the same press releases, you’ll be out in the community finding new insights and unique story angles for our readers. You’ll report a mix of quick-turn stories and deeper pieces, attend meetings and events, build relationships with sources and regularly pitch your own story ideas. The salary for this position is $50,000, with some room for negotiation. The position also includes three weeks of paid time off. This is an in-person job in Bentonville, with flexibility to work from home some days. The successful candidate will likely have at least two to three years of professional reporting experience, although all are welcome to apply. Photography skills are a plus.
