We are looking for an analytical, detail-oriented Grants Officer to support our faculty in developing proposals, constructing complex budgets, and securing vital research funding!
In this dynamic hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA, you will work two days per week on-site while enjoying the flexibility of remote work for the rest. As a key technical leader, you will manage high-volume, complex grant and contract transactions—with a special focus on National Institutes of Health (NIH) applications. Responsibilities
Position Summary: Provide advanced analytical and financial expertise to support pre-award contract and grant proposal development, complex budget formulation, and sponsor compliance. Serve as a technical specialist for federal and non-federal research portfolios.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage high-volume, highly complex grant and contract proposals, including task budgets, multiple sub-awards, and option years.
- Develop, review, and finalize complex budget estimations and projections.
- Ensure proposal compliance with federal regulations (NIH guidelines, cost principles) and institutional policies.
- Review and guide pre-award transactions regarding human/animal subjects, financial conflict of interest, and biosafety.
- Utilize electronic research administration systems to submit, track, and manage applications.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training.
- Extensive experience in university pre-award research administration and NIH grant application workflows.
- Advanced knowledge of federal research guidelines, cost principles, and compliance standards.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, database tools, and electronic proposal software.
- Full medical compliance/health screening completion required per institutional policy.
