We Empower the Fighting Spirit in You! Position Overview We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and results-driven fitness classes. The ideal candidate is passionate about health and wellness, thrives in a group environment, and can motivate participants of all fitness levels.
Key Responsibilities Class Instruction - Plan and deliver structured, effective group fitness classes.
- Select appropriate music and incorporate safe, well-paced choreography.
- Demonstrate exercises while providing clear cueing and smooth transitions.
- Educate participants on proper form, modifications, and contraindications.
- Ensure safe use of all equipment and enforce studio guidelines.
- Welcome and orient new participants.
- Motivate members and create a positive, inclusive class environment.
- Monitor participants and make real-time adjustments as needed.
Administrative Responsibilities - Arrive prepared and start/end classes on schedule.
- Set up and properly store all equipment.
- Accurately record hours in the electronic timekeeping system.
- Operate studio sound and lighting systems.
- Secure substitutes when necessary.
- Communicate member feedback or concerns to the Program Manager.
- Promote gym programs, services, and special events.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Qualifications - Strong knowledge of exercise science principles and safe training techniques.
- General understanding of anatomy and kinesiology.
- Experience with group fitness instruction, including music timing and cueing.
- High energy level and physical stamina.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to demonstrate exercises clearly and effectively.
Certifications - Current Group Fitness certification (preferred).
- Specialty format certifications may be required based on class offerings.
