Yard Driver

As a Yard Driver you are responsable for operating specialized tractor trucks to maneuver semi-trailers within our two buildings – factory to warehouse and warehouse to factory.

Your role:

• Efficiently moving, hooking, and unhooking trailers to and from loading docks, often in tight spaces.
• Organizing trailers in the yard in accordance with dispatcher, lead, or supervisor instructions.
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections on both the yard goat truck and trailers (checking lights, tires, brakes, fuel, oil, and water).
• Keeping accurate records of trailer movements, hourly usage, and inspection reports.
• Positioning trailers for loading/unloading and ensuring the safety of all equipment within the yard area. 

You're the right fit if:

• No prior experience required; understanding or having had experience as a driver at a warehouse or distribution center operator is preferred.

• You have High School Diploma, vocational education certificate or GED. A valid CDL Class A required, often with at least 6 months of experience maneuvering trailers. Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card is required.

• You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this  Production/Assembler position.

• You possess positive and respectful attitude, work well with others, maintain a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, be adaptable and be safety conscious.

• The ability to work mandatory overtime is an essential function of this role. Overtime work can include Saturdays and 10-hour shifts.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an onsite role for 1 st shift Monday -Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Philips Transparency Details

The overall pay range for this position in Ontario, California is $22.00 - $34.00 USD Hourly, plus overtime eligible.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.    

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here .

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Ontario , California
