At RSI, we believe that the highest quality services are achieved by honoring each person’s dignity, strengths, and voice. Our work is guided by respect, inclusion, and the belief that individuals have both unlimited potential and the right to actively participate in decisions affecting their lives.

What You’ll Do

As a Music Therapist at RSI, you will:

  • Deliver music therapy services to patients, families, and staff in alignment with treatment goals
  • Respond to music therapy referrals and determine appropriate one‑to‑one or group interventions

  • Coordinate and support the operations of the music therapy program
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure ethical, effective, and holistic care
  • Educate clinical staff on the role of music therapy and its impact on patient recovery and well‑being
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation that meets legal, regulatory, and organizational standards
  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment by following hospital and organizational safety protocols
  • Collect, manage, and report program data to supervisors, committees, and administration as required
  • Promote and facilitate patient participation in additional hospital or organizational music‑related events

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy
  • Completion of an approved music therapy program
  • Current MT‑BC (Music Therapist – Board Certified) credential, maintained in good standing
  • Commitment to ongoing continuing education to maintain certification
  • Prior experience as a music therapist (preferred, but not required)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with musical instruments, adaptive tools, and electronic devices used in therapeutic settings
  • Excellent verbal, written, and age‑appropriate communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a courteous, professional, and empathetic approach
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team‑based, collaborative environment

Why Join RSI?

  • Mission‑driven organization centered on respect, dignity, and inclusion
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact through creative, evidence‑based care
  • Supportive interdisciplinary environment
  • A role where your professional skills, creativity, and compassion truly matter
