Job Description
A leading architectural metalwork and custom fabrication company in Suffolk County, NY is seeking an exceptionally skilled Senior Ornamental Welder / Metal Fabricator to join their team. They specialize in high-end residential and commercial custom metal projects, creating high-impact decorative gates, custom staircases, ornamental railings, and architectural accents across Long Island and New York. Responsibilities
- Fabricate complex, custom architectural and ornamental metal assemblies from concept drawings or architectural blueprints with minimal supervision.
- Execute flawless MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welds across thin-gauge and decorative metals, controlling heat input to prevent warping and distortion.
- Expertly grind, blend, sand, and polish welds to achieve seamless, show-quality finishes (brushed, polished, or paint/powder-coat ready).
- Lay out complex geometries, spiral staircases, custom radiuses, and scrollwork using precision shop math and full-scale layout techniques.
- Safely operate ironworkers, press brakes, metal rollers, tube benders, band saws, and cold saws with high precision.
- Inspect all assemblies for tight tolerances, squareness, and aesthetic perfection before finishing or delivery.
