Program dates: June 1st, 2026 – End date: August 6th, 2026
Location: NYC Hybrid (three days per week on-site)
Company laptop will be provided for the duration of the program.
Weekly schedule: 28 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Pay rate: $17.00/hour
As an HBG editorial intern at Basic Books Group, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.
Basic’s hybrid summer intern will support our team by assisting editorial staff with projects pertaining to both Basic’s frontlist and backlist. We are looking for a motivated and organized individual who is eager to learn about the publishing industry and be part of an intellectually curious team.This position is an opportunity for someone with an interest in serious ideas who wants to learn about all editorial facets of book publishing, from acquisition to post-publication.
