Cannabis Grower

Position Overview


We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on  Cannabis Grower to oversee plant cultivation from propagation through harvest. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal plant health, maximizing yield, maintaining compliance, and supporting overall production goals.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of plant science, environmental controls, and cannabis-specific cultivation techniques, along with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cultivation & Plant Care

  • Oversee all stages of plant growth including cloning, vegetative, flowering, and harvest cycles.
  • Monitor and maintain plant health, identifying and addressing pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stressors.
  • Develop and execute feeding schedules, irrigation plans, and nutrient regimens.
  • Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
  • Perform pruning, trellising, topping, defoliation, and other plant training techniques to maximize yield and quality.
  • Maintain detailed cultivation logs and production records.
Environmental Management

  • Monitor and adjust environmental controls including lighting, temperature, humidity, CO₂ levels, and airflow.
  • Ensure irrigation and fertigation systems are functioning properly.
  • Maintain optimal growing conditions to meet quality and production standards.
Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking within METRC (or applicable state tracking system).
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and audits.
Team Collaboration

  • Train and supervise cultivation technicians as needed.
  • Communicate plant health updates, yield projections, and operational needs to management.
  • Collaborate with post-harvest teams to ensure smooth harvest transitions.
Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • 2+ years of cannabis cultivation experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of plant biology, nutrient management, and pest control.
  • Experience with environmental control systems and irrigation systems.
  • Familiarity with METRC or other cannabis tracking systems.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods.
  • Exposure to strong plant odors and agricultural environments.
  • Comfortable working in indoor, greenhouse, or outdoor cultivation settings.
Preferred Skills

  • Experience in commercial-scale cultivation.
  • Knowledge of genetics and strain development.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Passion for the cannabis industry and commitment to quality production.
